5th assignment

-the project of my novel is showing us how the government would be if we saw it in a different way than how we see it now.
-the main conflict is the main character, Winston vs. the government. Winston knows that if the thought police ever caught him writing in his book, he would be killed. but he still does it anyways because he wants to show the future how life was in 1984.
-the conflict contributes to my novel by showing how Winston is suffering in his life because he is being overpowered too much. that is giving an example of how to look at the government on a different way because in the society that Winston is living in he cant do much unless he is allowed to.
-i think that another element that is shown in my novel is character vs. him/her self because Winston is aware that if he gets caught writing in his journal he will be punished. but he also really wants to write in it. i think that is an example of charecter vs. itself because he is going back and forth about writing in his journal.

3rd assignment!

-It think that my story is completly new b/c i have never heard of anything similar to it. and that is what makes the book even more interesting b/c i want to listen to a whole new story that i have never heard before.

-it makes it original b/c i think that it is a whole new idea of how the society has everybody.

-i think they can because all people really need is to have a good imagination to come up with a good story. not one that already exisits b/c there is already alot of stories that have already been writen but have a little twist in them. to me that dose not make a whole new story, its the same but just with little changes.

second assignment

1) I think that the main character in the novel is Winston Smith. Winston is a guy that rebels and dose everything that he shouldent be doing. he is going against the the law and what he know that if he ever got caught, he would probably die, but risks it. " he kept his back turned to the telescreen. it was safer;though , as he knew, even a back can be revealing."
2) i think that me and winston are kind of alike because he like to rebel and i knid of like to do the same. we would be different because i think that i would not risk diying and just have to follow the rules some what.
3) i see a very dark town and it is snowing, hard. i hear cars beeping children crying and alaems going off from stolen cars. i taste the filthy air that is full of smoke. i feel like i am in hell because it looks like a very bad place that i dont want to be in.

first assignment

the book i choose is called Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad. the reason why is because it sounded to me like a good book that would make me cry! it also seemed like it would be a very interesting book because of its title. i hope that it turns out to be a good book.
